Tyvek® Maps: Tyvek® World Maps, Tyvek® USA Maps
Material Concepts is a leading supplier of Tyvek® maps, including Tyvek® world maps and Tyvek® maps of the United States of America. These maps are printed on real DuPont™ Tyvek® Graphics Media.
Tyvek® is an extremely versatile material offering a balance of physical characteristics that combine the best properties of paper, film, and cloth. Maps printed on Tyvek® Graphics media benefit from the greater strength, lighter weight, all-weather survivability, and superior vibrancy of the material. The Tyvek® world map and Tyvek® United States map pop with vibrant color and brilliant detail - they look amazing!
Hang Tyvek® maps with push pins or thumbtacks or, for a truly great presentation, have a local framer dry mount the Tyvek map onto foam board. It not only looks great, but will help preserve the integrity of the Tyvek® map for years to come.
Tyvek® maps from Material Concepts are:
- Printed on real DuPont™ Tyvek® Graphics media

Uses for Tyvek® Maps
Here are just a few examples of where Tyvek® maps from Material Concepts are used:
- Shipping Departments
- Airports, Bus and Train Stations
Because Tyvek® is water and tear resistant, these Tyvek® maps can be placed in garages, warehouses, and other areas where paper maps would not last. The strength of Tyvek® is also completely unaffected by water.
Tyvek® Maps Compared to Laminated Maps
Unlike Tyvek® world maps, the lamination on laminated maps creates glare from overhead lighting and sunlight. Pinholes in paper maps and laminated maps have a tendency to grow. Eventually gravity has its way and the map tears away from the pin; this will not happen with a Tyvek world map or the Tyvek United States map because they are printed on durable, tear resistant DuPont™ Tyvek® Graphics media. Tyvek® maps are recyclable and don't have to be disposed of in land fills like laminated maps. The lamination on a laminated world map renders the map unrecyclable, and it either ends up in a landfill or releases toxic fumes if incinerated. Tyvek® maps are clearly superior compared to laminated maps.
Tyvek® combines all the best physical properties and characteristics of paper, film, and fabric - in one exceptional material. While most products offer water resistance or breathability, Tyvek® offers both. Tyvek® is equally strong and protective in wet or dry conditions. Tyvek® is lightweight, flexible, smooth, particulate free, opaque, and resistant to water, rot and mildew, chemicals, abrasion, and aging. Tyvek® has a high strength-to-weight ratio and is pH 7 (neutral). Made from 100% high-density polyethylene fibers, Tyvek® is manufactured in a unique flash-spinning process without the use of binders. Tyvek® is recyclable too.
