Tyvek® Maps Compared to Laminated Maps

Unlike Tyvek® world maps, the lamination on laminated maps creates glare from overhead lighting and sunlight. Pinholes in paper maps and laminated maps have a tendency to grow. Eventually gravity has its way and the map tears away from the pin; this will not happen with a Tyvek world map or the Tyvek United States map because they are printed on durable, tear resistant DuPont™ Tyvek® Graphics media. Tyvek® maps are recyclable and don't have to be disposed of in land fills like laminated maps. The lamination on a laminated world map renders the map unrecyclable, and it either ends up in a landfill or releases toxic fumes if incinerated. Tyvek® maps are clearly superior compared to laminated maps.
