Black Tyvek® for Picture Frame Backing, Photography

Black Tyvek® is a tear and water resistant picture frame backing paper made of 100% DuPont™ Tyvek®. Black Tyvek® is a superior replacement for the black or brown Kraft paper that has been widely used until now. Photographers are also using Black Tyvek® as the mat for framed photos or as a backing sheet for photos.

Black Tyvek® is better than Kraft paper for protecting framed art and photos. Kraft paper becomes brittle with age and tears easily when handled, creating openings that allow dust, air and moisture to intrude and cause damage. Unlike paper, Black Tyvek® won't tear or age and is water resistant. The black Tyvek® color is locked in and will not transfer onto hands or walls. Picture frame bumpers, frame sealing tape, labels and stickers bond well to Tyvek®.
